Unveiling an Bizarre Steam Demo: Guiding a Poop with the Goal to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have discovered a variety of engaging creations from small studios. But, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel platformer lets you play a hero that is truly a dung attempting to make its way to a restroom. As a fun fact, "Unko" means "poop."
The gameplay is simple: just use a jump control. In numerous challenges, battle boss fights and visit a market to purchase customizations for your dung hero.
Execute your movements with caution, since one wrong move requires restarting the level. Bounce using bubbles to hurl yourself upward, traverse disappearing surfaces, and touch buttons to open secret routes. Earn currency to purchase more difficult game content where gameplay intensifies.
Graphically, the demo shows off vibrant stages and catchy music score. The simple art featuring morphing geometric shapes could recall gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.
While it's tough to name previous releases where you control a dung character, gaming have long included fecal matter. For example, in Death Stranding, you can make grenades from character droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as fertilizer. Naturally, such content is present extensively in the South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.
Regardless of its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already received impressive accolades, such as being named best at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. This trial version is available now on Steam, with the final release planned to arrive on computers on November 19.
