Charli XCX Embraces a Twisted Persona of Herself in Mockumentary Teaser

The celebrated musician is preparing for a substantial film appearance in 2026, kicking off with the mockumentary titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, she plays what she calls as a dark version of her own persona.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever encountered, the performer commented.

She further explained in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration stemmed from the pressure to produce one.

A Sneak Peek into The Moment

The debut trailer, released on this week, mixes authentic footage from her recent tour with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.

The mockumentary is overseen and co-authored by Aidan Zamiri, who revealed that the story centers on a world where the artist took completely different paths in the promotion of her smash hit album Brat.

The coming year will also feature Charli with Olivia Wilde in sensual story I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in scary reboot Faces of Death.

She recently agreed to feature in the star’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.

I’m thoroughly loving my foray into acting, Charli stated. I feel very, very inspired at the moment in this area, and I solely aim to pursue projects that excite me.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also see the release of Emerald Fennell’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase fresh tracks from the artist.

She is also set to create the soundtrack for the story Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release soon.

The mockumentary is scheduled to debut on January 30.
